What kind of audio resolution does the fairphone 2 offer? Is it usual 16 bit / 44.1 kHz or is hi-res also supported (24 bit / 96 kHz e.g.)?
I think it’s all based on the SoC and the software. Does this SoC specs PDF help you somehow? It states:
“Audio: HD multichannel sound with DTS-HD and Dolby Digital Plus”
I have not clue what that means, but maybe it will help you?
Thanks for that file! HD Stereo sounds good, does anyone know about precise bit/kHz features more precise than HD? I’d love to know exactly what the maximum audio resolution of the phone is.
The audio bitrate is dependent of the DAC ,not the processor itself.

Checking this list might help as well. I’m not sure what you two are talking about, but most of the suppliers are listed there. Maybe a common DAC IC manufacturer will be listed there as well? I thought that even the DACs are included in the SoC these days, but maybe I’m wrong. Let us know!
