I have done some reading. But I apparently I missed something? Any post in particular you had in mind?
Those who encounter the problem of photos getting cropped when using 2x zoom in the stock Camera app, might want to try the “Pro” mode instead of standard “Photo” mode. You can leave the settings on auto.
is this getting fixed? I am having this issue since switching to android 16 on fp6.
Got the update today.
I got the update today. Maybe someone from Vimla was following this thread ![]()
22nd of may, still an issue
How long are these rollouts typically taking? There hasn’t been any updates available since february for my FP6 (operator Elisa, Finland).
I think one has to question: how are Fairphone handling software support? Their approach clearly isn’t working adequately, and it undermines the whole enterprise.
The pattern is clearly established at this point: software support was poor on the FP3, and remains problematic three device iterations later.
The software needs to be as sustainable long-term as the hardware, but it seems more of an afterthought.
We have two Fairphones running 6 /e/OS. It’s now been three months and we still haven’t received an update to Android 16. Is the rollout still ongoing, or have we been overlooked?
e/OS is supported by Murena not Fairphone, so you would have to ask Murena what the plans are.
I was under the impression that Fairphone supported (the core) Android and that Murena supported the /e/OS operating system. This clarifies things. Thank you for your quick reply!
The core for Fairphone OS as well as e/OS (and almost every other smartphones OS) is AOSP (Android Open Source Project). AOSP is developed by Google.
AOSP should make 90+% of the code of the smartphones OS, hence those are all ‘Androids’.
Hi ouwe Zeerover,
the /e/OS Fairphones will only receive updates for the /e/OS operating system. Fairphones that were sold with Android as the operating system will receive the Android 16 update.
Hi all,
Has anyone seen a clue of a release date for the Proximus customers (biggest Belgian network)
I’m aware that the release is coordinated with network operators for compatibility checks but this is getting incredibly long…
Thanks and have a nice day
You would need to ask your provider about that.
In your SIM settings, you could temporarily disable the SIM. Normally it should show the update right away. Afterwards, enable the SIM agsin.
No it will not work when you dont have a second SIM
Worked for me for the last few updates ![]()
Do you have any other SIM active or have you had registered in the past?
No, I don’t have any other SIM ![]()
