Android 14 is here. Here's what's changed - FP5.UT20.B.041.20240624

Great news.
Just 15min ago I received this from the helpdesk:

Different network carriers have different technical requirements: before we release a software update we extensively test the software. We found that, under some specific circumstances, our update might cause some issues with specific carriers.

This is the case for Proximus, we are currently waiting for the final approval to release the update. Once the software update is available, you will receive a push notification to automatically update your device.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and we want to thank you for your understanding. The path to a fairer electronics industry has its fair share of obstacles, and we appreciate your continued support while we work on this.

Thanks for the efforts!
I’ll give it a try this afternoon.

I contacted support fairphone. They assured me that the problem was with proximus. I then sent a message to proximus helpdesk. the next day (yesterday) the update was suddenly available. strange
The update went well.
And I now read here that it is available for everyone.
that is a good thing
Hopefully the next update will go more smoothly

greetings

Is there any progress on android 14 porting for FP4?
Thx

None at all sadly

Will probably come in a month or two.

According to Android 14 on Fairphone 4 - #62 by peci1 there are some big news, which haven’t been shared by Fairphone yet. Let’s hope that it is an imminent launch of the Android 14 update.

Edit: apparently not. :frowning:
