The first usb-c/audio adapter (non-Fairphone) I had purchased with my FP5 was broken quite soon. Then I bought a different one that started wiggling in the port after a short while and stopped working. Charging still works fine, and cleaning was to no avail. In between my headphones had stopped working as well, so I got cheap wired ones, until I’d figure out, what I was gonna do about this mess.
I’d prefer wired headphones, being independent of charging all the time and free of using extra electricity…
Due to the port problems I had faced, I didn’t want to order a new cable for my old Fairphone wired modular heaphones whose cable is snapped since years.
So finally, after months of struggIe, I found my solution for now and just ordered a low priced (18€) bluetooth cable with MMCX connectors that should fit the old Fairphone modular ones.
“7 hours of battery life, comes with a case and charging cable, recharges in 1 hour. aptX”
I’ve never had bluetooth headphones before. Happy the old headphones get a second life, and maybe I will switch to Fairbuds in the future.
The lack of sustainability and discomfort with the missing headphone jack ought to remain a matter of discussion, by the way.
Will let you know how and if it works.
