Accessory guide with no screen protector instructions

Hi!

Got my screen protector privacy, and I am quite happy with it. The only thing I found silly was that it does not Brin instructions (which kind of does not need) but days to go to the Fairphone.com/gen6-accessories website, which does not have instructions on this accessory .

Is it a real problem? Not at all. But still there should be at least a reference to the product.

Well, this definitely became a problem for me. Was ca four years since I installed a protection, I don’t remember which of the two plastic sheets is the one to go on the phone, both have one sticky side… The red sticker had a very small text (at the time I had no other phone or magnifying glass). The official web instruction linked from a QR code on the package was for v4. It had no red sticker at all.

I followed the video, when pulling the sheets apart I put the protective part on the table and applied the wrong (thin) one… I probably put a thumb on a bad place, when realizing this and switched sheet it it was definitely wasted. Tried to clean an reapply in many ways, no chance.

What an unpleasing unboxing. First impression lasts. I made wrong, but I’m mostly worried that quality assurance was this sloppy, leaving a manual out, and at the same time not ensuring a proper online manual or video. And I definitely hope that other guys deal with quality issues regarding phone software and hardware. :frowning:

Hi, sorry to hear about your frustrating experience.

Hopefully things could get improved.

I found the website instructions but as you were saying the video tutorial is for FP4.

There were separate instructions for FP6 but did not mention a red sticker, and the images did not load.

Unfortunately, I am not happy at all, I just wasted another one more protection since there is still no instruction and it is freaking hard (if you are not a surgeon) to position it right due to the raised edge around the screen. I ended up 0,1 mm outside the edge, having to lift it up (it is not really possible to adjust it sideways when it’s attached), and then a single dust fragment slipped inside, and game over. Again.

And I then saw that the package include ā€œguide stickersā€, Do you think that everyone in the world knows how use them? At least I have never heard of those, but looking it up afterwards I understand that this would have ensured a proper positioning. If there was an instruction…

I urge anyone who experiences the same issue to make use of your consumer rights and file a claim, as missing or insufficient instructions clearly constitute a defect under EU consumer law.

Has someone managed to find a good guideline for this? I don’t even feel like trying without knowing where the stickers go, so I feel like I wasted money for the protector right now..

Lotte, @Fairphone_CM

could someone have a look into this?

I checked at my PC browsers: firefox, chrome and edge - no difference.
