Accessability apps disabled after restart - also: two restarts needed for full functionality

Hello!

I have recently noticed a problem with accessability apps being disabled after I restart my phone. This would be fine, I could just enable them again, if it weren’t for one of them being lawnchair, my launcher: once I re-enable it, I also have to re-allow some settings, including the ability for Lawnchair to add widgets. This means that every time I restart my phone, i have to add every single widget to my home screen once again, which is quite annoying.
I only noticed this since I switched to the new Lawnchair version, which is not on the PlayStore anymore, so it might also be a Lawnchair issue, but since I know and like this community here, I thought I’d start here

What might also be relevant, now that I think of it: for a long while now (a year, maybe 2?), when I restart my fairphone, it doesn’t seem to be able to connect to my sd card, which means that widgets and apps don’t load. I’d quickly figured out that a second restart always solves the problem, so I’ll always just restart my phone twice. Very weird, but since the workaround is quite simple, I’ve never bothered trying to figure that out. Could that perhaps be connected though? It also has to do with widgets not being able to load in…

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and input! If I can’t figure this out, I’ll deal. But if I can do anything other than a factory reset (I am not THAT bothered) to try and solve it, that’d be nice.

This is where I’d start to investigate. Why don’t apps start without the SD card? How is your SD card formatted? Internal or portable? Did you try with another SD card or even a different model? Did you have a look at the sdcardguide yet?

Thank you so much! I didn’t know about the issues with an internally formatted sd card. I saw that the new version of the launcher was indeed installed on the sd card - and now i am assuming the older, play store version was stored on the phone, with which I didn’t have these issues. I also checked the settings after a first restart and it said my sd card was corrupted, so it makes sense now why I had the issues, the sd card couldn’t be read. Still don’t know why the two restarts are a solution, but that might be some wird internally formatted sd card issues…
For now it’s solved as I moved the app to internal storage, and soon I’ll make backups and reformat my sd card as external storage.
