About APKPure (alternative apk/app store)

Hi,
I recently installed Fairphone Open, and I’ve been looking for an alternative to Google Play Store, like most of people (f-droid sometimes isn’t enough).
I wanted to be able to install apks directly from my phone and I found APKpure which features every app i was looking for (that I had used from PlayStore when i had Google).

The thing is I can’t find any opinion about it anywhere, and i’m wondering if I should be scared of security, since I’m installing apk from an unknown source…

Has anyone heard of it before ? What do you know about it ? Is it safe ? (it looks safe but no one seem to talk about it on the net)
Thank you for reading this :3

I have been wondering the same for a while, i would be glad to hear some opinions on APKPure.

See here for my experience so far

The same with me: I use it, didn’t have problems until today, but I am not sure whether it is safe.

Hi!
I’ve downloaded some apps from the store as well. Do any of you use the APKpure app to keep the apps updated? Does it work well?

It does work, but not with all apps. Probably I can’t update apps, I have downloaded from another store originally. But I can delete such an app and install it anew from APKpure. Also sometimes the version of an app is different on different stores.

It is a bit messy (i never understand which updates i already downloaded and only need to install and which ones I still have to download), but it does the job quite well.

I always wonder how these sites manage to make money. I guess that they either sell your data or display ads. Reading the privacy policy and the terms of use, it is not always easy to understand what they do exactly.
As for apkpure, they store quite a lot of data, including your history:

We may also automatically log certain anonymous information about visitors to APKPure.com, including, but not limited to, where the user came from to visit our site, IP address, search terms utilized, browser type and a reading history of the pages viewed. (https://apkpure.com/privacy-policy.html)

I don’t think that apkmirror stores as much: http://www.apkmirror.com/apkmirror-com-privacy-policy/

As for Aptoide, I find this paragraph quite frightening (https://www.aptoide.com/page/privacy):

Integrity and Retention of Personal Information
Android makes it easy for you to keep your personal information accurate, complete, and up to date. We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
You have the right to access your personal data and the right to obtain the rectification, erasure or blocking of the data concerning you, whenever such is justified, by contacting Aptoide through the e-mail address indicated below.
International Transfer
Your information may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your jurisdiction.

And I couldn’t get any information for Evozi (https://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/), but if I understand the site well, someone fetches the apps, it is not automatic. So they should receive money of some kind.
