2 years with my Fairphone 5

Just wanted to share that my Fairphone 5 is 2 years and 2 days old! So far I’ve had a wonderful experience with it. Last June I met another fellow Fairphone 5 user in the wild and we had a little moment to talk about why we decided to get this phone. I’m curious to know other people’s stories as well.

This is my first post in the forum so let me know if I’m overlooking any guidelines or rules!

The screenshot below is from the “Phone Timeline” available in the Fairphone app.

Hello.
I have saved a similar screenshot in my collection:)

Once we hit 3 years, we will most likely qualify for a badge:)

In terms of learning more about the fellow users, feel free to read this topic

I’m also in for two years

Also, no real problems, small glitches, sure, but then, my wife’s Samsung phone isn’t perfect, either…

BTW, more timely updates would be fine, just saying…

Is this on a Fairphone 5?

Probably not a FP5. This however is:

Nice stories about sustainability. That’s how I made my Fairphone sustainable

Congrats! I also have mine for 2+ years, still very happy with it. My only gripe is that it seems a bit slower after Android 15 (?) but I have the feeling that this is more of an A15 issue than a Fairphone issue. Apps being killed very quickly in the bg, phone turning slow when going through the recent apps history, etc.

I’m very happy with how it’s holding up, and it’s a joy to use. Here’s to 3-6 more years

After 2 years my battery is down to max. 1 day and the USB port is defect.

Sorry to hear about that @wobbel :frowning:

Feel free to send me a direct message if you want to talk about your phone’s issues. I would be glad to help if I can.

Hello Diogo,

I was already in contact with the support, see here: No data transfer possible via USB-A on the Fairphone 5

Since the support team has been unresponsive since Keneda’s initial reply and has not responded to my request to…

I have cell phones since 1992 and smartphones since 2013 and never used a phone shorter than 5 years. With no phone I had so much problems or a damaged connector.
My wife has a FP4 with less problems.
