- No sound at all. Volume buttons elicits no reaction, nor does changing things directly in settings. Have tried e.g. changing ringtones to get a reaction, but nothing. Have tried the
*#*#66#*#*code on the Phone app, but when I input the last character it just disappears and the Service Menu doesn’t show. - Camera app gives “FAILED TO OPEN CAMERA. CAMERA MAY BE IN USE BY ANOTHER APPLICATION? ID:0”. Flashlight icon is grayed out.
- In FASTBOOT MODE, only PRODUCT_NAME, VARIANT, BOOTLOADER VERSION, BASEBAND VERSION, SERIAL NUMBER, INTERNAL STORAGE SIZE, MAIN MEMORY SIZE AND VENDOR, SECURE BOOT, DEVICE STATE are listed, and BOOTLOADER VERSION and BASEBAND VERSION have no values listed for them.
- Longer boot time? Took two minutes.
- One time the lock screen was transparent to the desktop and correctly inputting my PIN didn’t make it go away (but incorrectly inputting the PIN was correctly rejected). Power menu wasn’t responsive either, could only reboot by holding down the power button.
Background/story/ramblings:
On my last phone I flashed several custom ROMs, including eOS, but that was with TWRP which pretty much holds your hand once you install it. Anyway, the official eOS instructions for the FP3 obviously doesn’t mention TWRP so I just tried copy pasting the commands. I ran into the common “Fastboot error: couldn’t parse partition size ‘0x” and tried to fix it by switching active slots as instructed, and got the boot flash trough, but after I went trough the rest of the instructions I ran into misc. issues like corruption warnings (I think both kinds? I don’t remember.) Tried some of the older eOS versions. At some point booted into eOS, but with the Android System warning “There’s an internal problem with your device. Contact your manufacturer for details.” Not sure if the issues were around at this point, was too distracted by the warning. Tried to do the steps yet again, and I suspect, though I’m not sure, that I flashed over the previous active slot at some point (I didn’t use any commands other than the ones listed in the instructions though). One way or another, it booted into eOS without the warning, but then I confirmed the issues. Let the OS updated itself but didn’t fix things. I’ve tried redoing things in both Windows and Ubuntu but the end results are always the same. Don’t think it’s a (physical) hardware issue as I don’t recall dropping the phone, and I’ve kept it in a protective case besides, but I admit I haven’t dared to disassemble things, will do if you insist though.
