I’m Gaetano. I’d love to buy a fairphone 6 with /e/os, but I have a doubt. I read several articles but most of them were not updated. An important thing for me is Android Auto. Usually, with my Android stock, the smartphone connects automatically when I turn on the car. With fairphone and /e/os, will I be able to do so? Will it need a usb connection?
Eventually, is there a manual to learn how to connect the smartphone to the car with android auto wireless?
I’m not an expert in apk, scrub etc, but I think I should not have any problems following a manual!

Following the manual will be easy, but if you are already using stock Android anyway - if this is important to you, would a regular Google fairphone 6 not be an alternative (since you have to install some Google apps anyway to make it work in the first place)?

I am interested in reducing Google’s data collection and tracking. Ideally, I’d love to have also a Linux phone, but unfortunately a lot of apps are not compatible or have some problems. One of the best solutions seems to be /e/os, so I was looking for some info about compatibility on the fairphone.
If /e/os cannot use android auto, I’ll probably buy and just use the fairphone Android version.
Makes perfect sense. If you look around here there’s quite a few people who can help (fairphone allows this) with moving from e/OS to stock Android and back (personally I am not so inclined, but it seems to be FAIRLY straightforward) so you could always try.
