Wired Headphones/headset,

My Fairphone 5 on Fairphone OS stopped playing sound through my headphones (Samsung AKG USB‑C headset). When I look a bit deeper in the software, I can still see signs that the phone knows they are connected.

However, the sound plays through the phone speaker instead.

The headset still works fine on other phones.

I cleaned the USB‑C port,
and I tried to find a setting to manually change the audio output.

At one point they started working again, but the next day the problem came back. As far as I know, this wasn’t related to any setting I changed.

Tips and help are more than welcome.

Hi
Check the internal testing menu for accessories, the port for data transfer and alike.
If that is anything like my case, swapping the port should do a trick.
You could also have it repaired via warranty.

Hi @Meaghan,

Thank you for pointing out its probably a hardware issue on my Phone.

Have tested three different headset and adapters,
test menu keeps displaying the massage: please insert Headset.

After following the staps of the Fairphone selfservice portaal.

The portal dit work perfectly for this issue.
a separate option was available for reporting a wired headphones issues.:ok_hand:

The system dit give me the option to send my phone in for repair.

Hade hoped it will have given my the option to get a new part for free to self repair, but ofcourse, I know, i should not complain😅.

yep, I hoped too as sending in the phone for repair is …not that convenient;-)
my story had a happy ending as you know but it wasn’t reimbursed. perhaps you will be more lucky:) just mentioning that so that you know what to expect:)
