Will my extended warranty work?

For now there is quite delay from the support team, so I come here to see if I’m not waiting for nothing.

My phone stop working, and after some different test I found in the help center and this forum, I think is about the core module and I must try to use the warranty.

But I’m not sure if it will be possible for 2 reason :

The first is that because I’m dumb, and I can’t remember if I registered my phone to get the extended warranty. I bought the phone through a reseller, and I do remember that the fairphone App installed on the phone at this time spam me every day to do it, but I can’t find any trace of it, how can I be sure?

The next thing is that I broke the glass screen 6 months ago. Since everything continue to work properly, I did not replace the screen, seem unless to me at this time. But this break the warranty of the reseller, so maybe same thing with the Fairphone warranty?

I can’t tell you about the broken screen, but when I extended the warranty, I received a confirmation email. I recently needed it and found it easily by searching “fairphone” in gmail. The email confirms the warranty extension and reports the new expiration date.

Hi you can easily* check in the app whether you registered for the extended warranty

*There have been some glitches with mine but all seemed to be resolved

The email confirms the warranty extension and reports the new expiration date.

I’m not sure if it helps, but I believe that the deadline for applying for your extended warranty is a bit longer than the deadline they mention (6 months?). I’m not sure when you bought it but perhaps you still might be able to apply for the extension, and through that you could check if you already did it before?

If it’s already broken though, that might be a bit shifty. Just wanted to mention it because I feared I had missed the deadline with my Fairphone 5, but I still managed to apply beyond the deadline.

Try removing the battery and SIM card, wait a minute, put everything back together and immediately connect the phone to the power supply. It should turn back on. Try doing this with different chargers, maybe even with a slow charger like a PC.

The same thing happened to me before I got to my problem: I broke the screen, I didn’t fix it right away and I started having problems with the power button. After that I fixed the screen, but the power button continued to give me problems, until I ended up in a bigger problem (see here FP4 stuck in Recovery Mode + broken power button = can't proceed). I hope you don’t go down the same path, but in the meantime try to see if you can turn on the phone and access the app.

@gekooktei I have just done it, it said than my warranty as been extended to 2028 =D ! Will see if the SAV accept it and if the broken screen won’t cancel it.
