Why was CM/LOS-for-FP1 development actually stopped?

More out of curiosity: there were efforts to use CM on the FP1. F.i.:

This did not go further but why actually? Too many technical problems? To few people having time and motivation?

Maybe this is of interest: http://forum.xda-developers.com/fairphone/orig-development/rom-fairphone-fp1-kitkat-4-4-2-t3243623/post63713090#post63713090

And that ROM was discontinued:

Hi,
as Fairphone themselves have started providing kitkat, there’s no need to build this anymore. All the best!

Chris

And also I have recorded some notes on how to build the CyanogenMod ROM for the FP1 but the build actually never booted, but here it is: https://github.com/z3ntu/cyanogenmod_fairphone_fp1

And some more notes are here: https://github.com/z3ntu/cyanogenmod_fairphone_fp1/issues/1

Thanks!
Considering the circumstances that FP1-support has stopped, and lots of FP1-users are so unhappy about this: are there any signs from or within the Lineage-community to reactivate development of this ROM?

What about this?

I used it for about a year and it works really well!

Maybe with the possibility to donate some money for saying thank you… ?

That’s where I got this quote from:

The LineageOS folk will never pick up this device as 1. it’s Mediatek, 2. It can’t run Android 6.0 or 7.1. Maybe @chrmhoffmann can provide the sources for the AOSP build (or/and the CM build) and build instructions that anybody can follow but I doubt that’ll happen.

If you are looking for a more recent Kitkat build you could also try the one of @danxuliu. He started with a Jelly Bean port from scratch and tried to port it up to Lollipop and even implemented his own FOSS audio system for the FP1. His Lollipop port lacks of many features but maybe Kitkat works better:
