Why the Snapdragon 632 processor choice?

The PF3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor. I’m concern about this choice.

Hello I am thinking of buying the new FP3. What surprises me is that the put a Snapdragon 632 and not a flagship one. Because they want to support the device for five years and apps and network jobs are getting more and more resource consuming I’d had expected to see something more powerful. Furthermore I am wondering if they even can support any SoC for such a long time since Qualcomm most probably won’t provide firmware updates for such a “long” time I guess. Any thoughts on this?
