This is what a note 4 charging cover looks like. Those electrodes forward NFC and the charging coil connects on those as well. This was a reasonably well functioning design and if the phone manufacturer exposes for you connectors on the back of the phone to connect to any 3rd party should be able to make such a cover. If not… then the hacky solutions come, which suck because usb-c is not prepared to drip charge through or regulate wireless charging based on temperature bad connection quality or other environmental factors well because the integration is unforseen.
The note 4 had it all. It was fixable, it used screws, no glue the only downside was that samsung used very poor quality nand flash inside that aged fast and they slowed down over time very much not due to software trickery, rather the nand flash becoming too slow to read/write.
