Where to find the Bottom Module?

Hey guys,

my USB-C-Port broken down, and during replacement stupid me also damaged the connector on the board. I couldn’t find it to buy online, so I opened a support ticket.

Now the support ticket is open for 10 days and I didn’t event got an answer from support. Not even a “Hello, we are on it”.

So where can I buy this part? I bought the Fairphone 5 when it came out, with the case and a protective screen. € 780.85. And now a USB-C-Port, another battery and a new screen protector, another 94.80 € So I spend over 800,- € on a “repairable” phone and sitting here for nearly two weeks with a broken phone and no answer whatsoever.

This su**s. I need the bottom module. I need this phone. Now. Not in 10 years. Not in 20 years. Now.

Stupid me should’ve just bought an iPhone and I could’ve repaired it today.

You will need to get it from Fairphone support. If you can prove you needed the modules under warranty and that you bought it then you can possibly get those refunded.

The avg. response time for fairphone support is 2+ months so get a temp phone.

Perhaps there is a Fairphone Angel in your neighbourhood who has a Fairphone 5.
Then you could test your phone.

So what did you break the cable PINs? There is no bottom module you can buy and exchange on your own, as its a part of the core module.

Have a look here if this helps

Yes, the PINs are broken and not in the correct place. So it’s more then just the plastic holder in the middle.

My first time connecting such a cable. I wasn’t sure if it was the USB-Port or the internal connection, so I lifted and reconnected it several times.

Well anyways, it’s kind of absurd to buy a phone to save the environment and do something for a fair world, and then have to get an unfair-phone anyways for the meantime. That’s no plus for environment or people. :frowning:

Anyone here interested in that phone? Comes with two batteries, an unpacked screen protector, a new USB-Port and only the Bottom Module is broken. I’ll get an unfair phone next, which is repairable within a week or two.
