Whatsapp calls volume very loud, even at lowest setting (FP6)

When I make normal calls, the volume can be controlled as expected. Moving it to the lowest setting lowers the volume quite low.

During whatsapp calls though, the lowest volume is VERY loud. It’s like having the volume at 75%. I have to move it away from my face to talk. I will have to return it if this can’t be fixed.

Anyone else notice this and know how to fix it?

This is on a new Fairphone 6. This was not happening on my previous Galaxy s10.

Thanks.

I’m also having the same issue but with regular calls on loudspeaker and also Threema calls.

I wonder if the minimum call volume is designed to be that loud for some reason?

Is anyone able to set their loudspeaker volume close to the lower volume levels that can be set for multimedia playback on an FP6?

Unfortunately not, for me the minimum cal sound level is also to much.

I have the issue at normal phone calls as well with Threema and Signal, using ear speaker or loud speaker.

It would be really great if a lower minimum sound level would be possible.

On the other hand the microphones are recording to quiet in all apps and conditions.

Same issue here. Did you contact customer service ?

I contacted Fairphone support about it but my request ended up closed as a suggestion. Looks like the minimum volume on FP loudspeaker is intended to be loud.

I recently noticed that keeping the call volume set 1 notch above the minimum makes the audio on my Threema calls more consistent, even though the loudness is basically the same.
