Hi folks
I was a Samsung Note user due to my work but since the prices of this company getting just nuts for each kind of product I just find it unnecessary to pay so much for a product what the building cost is just for 50 €. So I decides to get into a fair product what I use since few month now but I have a small issue, due to my fingers who are not build to play piano I would like to know if there is a Stylus what could work on the FP5 with the original protection layer on top.
Thx in upfront kind regards
Hi! Also previous Samsung Note user, also missing the stylus…
Unfortunately there is no Note-like active stylus for the Fairphone, since it requires a special screen. But if you want it just for more precise typing, you can use a passive (capacitive) stylus, those you can buy about everywhere where they sell phone accessories. You recognize them by their about pencil-thick, rounded, rubbery point, and they all work with any phone’s screen, since they simply imitate a finger.
You won’t be able to draw properly with it (resolution is too low), but it will definitely help typing with fat fingers on a small screen (I know the problem…).
Added advantage, they are dirt cheap: I have two (both pen shaped/sized), one resides in my home office desk drawer, and the second is permanently clipped to the external pocket of my tablet bag. They did cost me something like 20-30€, as opposed to the over 500€ (IIRC) of the Note’s stylus.
Hi great to hear I will try that out I should have a pen like that hanging around somewhere.
Thank you for the info I will replay on it as soon I tried it out.
Kind regards
This is an old touch pen I got from Samsung and it works well just the gum is a bit hard and need to be exchanged.
That’s precisely the ones I have (not the same model, but similar)! Very convenient.
The rubber tip is indeed fragile, I wonder if you can change them (probably not, not at this price range). I just take care they don’t face too much abuse.
FE and A-series should be affordable.
Any (passive) stylus should work. Maybe check a review site. I just have one w/me in my bag, near my pen (mostly for in winter with gloves). There’s some decent active stylus, too.
