Water on and in my fp2 :-(

Hello Everybody,

Water sank on my FP2 and it were pretty damaged accordint to the photo joined ;-(
What should I do ?
Changing all modules ?
The FP3 will be waterproof ?

You should NOT TURN IT ON FOR AT LEAST A WEEK!!!

You can try to clean it all with alcohol or distilled water. Maybe at least some parts can then still be used.

After cleaning and making sure everything is super dry (don’t use rice). See if there is a #localcommunities or any friendly Fairphoner near you to let you test your modules in their phone one by one to wlsee what still works and what doesn’t.

Nobody knows what the FP3 will look like, but I guess Fairphone will again opt for modularity/repairability instead of waterproof(ness?). You can’t have both unfortunately.

PS: Oh I hadn’t seen the picture where you turned on the screen. @Stefan is right, don’t do that until everything is clean and dry.

Thanks your complete answer, I was abroad and in the desert ;-( so I tried to turn it on just to check ! I’ll try du make it superdry.
