just got a brand new fairphone 6 and the wallpaper and display app won’t work at all, it just won’t open. I’ve tried from the settings menu and the home screen. please help!!

okay managed to find out I’m on FPOS (sorry I’m new at this) 
I’m not sure how to attach photos on here, but I’m on android 15

Just a last thought - have you transferred any settings from your old phone?

Can you go to “App info” by tapping that option as shown on the screenshot? Then clearing the Cache might help?
Thank you for the suggestion. I tried clearly the cache and storage. I also tried disabling and enabling the app and force stopping it but none of these have changed anything
Did you take over apps, settings etc from a previous phone? If yes I would do a clean install without taking Apps from meant only for e.g. Samsung, Motorola etc and def do not take over any settings.
Having the same issue. Got my fairphone today. Trying to open the wallpaper app it just crashes immediately.
Also, If I browse photos, it is not possible to set any picture as background Image. I did copy apps from a previous Android, but only a manageable amount of apps. Also tried resetting the app settings.
Same issue for me, when trying to set a wallpaper from my pictures, it automatically closes. I’m on a brand new fairphone 6 with android. A solution ?

the issue was fixed for me in the latest system update!
My issue was also solved by the last software update.
I have the same issue and the last update did not solve it. When I try to select a new wallpaper, I have two options, the green default wallpaper, or another option to select from “my images”. When I select from my images, I am asked to give permission to access files. If I select “allow access to everything”, the app crashes. If I select “allow limited access”, it will let me select the images to which the app has access, it will let me preview them, and when I press “done”, the app will just go back to the first screen where I can choose between the green background and “my images”, but none of the images allowed in the previous step is there. All I can select for a background is the green default wallpaper. Deleting cache and saved data from the app, deactivating and reactivating did not change anything. I will appreciate any help, because I don’t like the default wallpaper at all.
Edit: In case it is of help for anyone, I found a workaround, using a galery app downloaded from the playstore I can set images from my files as wallpapers, but the style and wallpaper app is still not working.
