Video recording not working if opened via quick button

Hello!

I’ve noticed this issue with my FP5. Very often if I open the camera by using the double tap function of the power button, and then try to record video, the video freezes. The seconds run so I know its recording and in photos I have a video file but only with the sound. The file has only a frozen first frame of the video. The same thing happens uf I try oto take another video and another and another. It happens untill I switch off the camera, open the phone through pin code and choose the actual camera app. Then if i try to take a video, everything is fine and it works as it should.

What is this and does this happen to others?

I’m recording to the internal memory, not to the sd card.

sorry to hear you experience problems with your camera.

i dit just try to mimic the problem on my FP5,

the camera was working properly, for now expect its something wat just happened to your phone.

you can try a couple of things:

First make sure you installed the latest software update for your Fairphone 5 currently: FP5.UT2K.B.098.20250109

and make sure that all applications (apps) are updated to the latest software.

check if the camera app is not restricted:
long press on the app and klik info on the appearing menu.
enable here all rights.

and set the battery settings to unlimited.

restart your phone and try again.
