Since 16.08 using the proximity sensor leads to battery drain.
1) using proximity sensor in tasker (600s refresh rate) or apps like waveup lead to the phone no longer entering deep sleep.
This can easily demonstrated with tasker.
Activating proximity sensor and switching the screen of for, e.g. half an hour. After that, check cpu cycles. Deep sleep at most 1 s
Deactivating proximity sensor and switching the screen of for the same amount of time: deep sleep at least at 50%, depending on the rest of apps
2) using proximity sensor while screen is on, e.g. Velis Auto Brightness.
Phone gets warm(er than usual) and battery drain is way higher. While reading newspaper I had a drain of 20% in 40minuts. I'll try to show it in a screenshot of battery stats. (see here: https://forum.fairphone.com/t/use-of-proximity-sensor-drains-the-battery/22155/21?u=lklaus)
Both programs and the phone behaved normally befor 16.08, now change in settings.
Since update to 16.08.0:
- screen redraw quickly but continuously when I want to draw my shape to unlock ;
- battery drains in less than 2 days (it was 4 days since I use FP Open).
As soon as the battery gets filled again, I'm switching back to 16.07.1.
