I have my FP4 for about a year now, was initially happy with it, but for a while now (maybe two months) right after there was a system update, I am not able to connect phone to PC to transfer files anymore.
Phone charges via USB but does not show up in windows browser, also the notification / prompt that shows up on phones pull down menu upon connect to allow for filetransfer does not show up anymore. I checked all options on phone and opend / enabled everything related to this, also tried different cables, no success.
Also tried all the troubleshooting advice I could find on here. Nothing worked.
Something clearly is not in order anymore.
I opened a Support Ticket last week but they surely take their time to get back to me.
Also the support chat “Weekdays between 10 and 12 AM” does not work for me, (Windows Firefox) everytime I try, it just says “Couldn’t load messages”.
I need to be able to transfer files between PC and phone via USB, if this doesn’t work, phone is almost useless to me.
Unfortunatly I am not as technically adept in regards to some stuff in this post and there was no satisfying solution, so this is exactly how it is with my phone, especially this part:
I didn’t know about this. I checked the map and the closest one is a 90 min car ride one way. I can’t take half a day and spend half a tank of fuel to do some testing, thats just not possible. This whole problem is costing me too much time already as it is.
I will do some testing with a different PC once I get hold of a friend that lives close by.
I am pretty sure by now my phones USB port is malfunctioning so I guess I have to wait until Support gets back to me.
Though, just to make sure I am not overlooking something, can someone post a screenshot of the “File Transfer Prompt” (FP4) that is supposed to show up in the pulldown menu upon USB connection?
Edit: Oh and can someone please confirm wether the Support-Chat is working and I am having browser Issues or if it’s currently not available?
