A trick for those with a weak mobile signal:
Attach a USB cable to your phones USB port and just let it hang - dont connect it to any other device.
The cable will act as a counterpoise for the built in antenna and may improve your signal. In my case the phone changes from a slow and unreliable EDGE link to 4G with speed, bells and whistles.
Different cable lengths bring different results - longer is not always better because the length is ideally tuned to the wavelength. Lot of room for experimentation for the FP radio amateur…
