The screen of my new Fairphone is very uneven and shows a distorted image. This is especially true for reflections on the glossy screen but it also meant that the original display protection did not stick well to it already after a few days.
I decided to make a foto of the reflection of my office ceiling on different phone screens to show how uneven the Fairphone’s screen actually is. Please look at the two fotos.

It is clearly visible how the ceiling structure is absolutely perfect on the Pixel while on the Fairphone it is uneven and distorted. Keep in mind my Pixel is a few years old already and does not exhibit this behavior. Both phones do not have a screen protection, just the bare display glass.
Can anyone with a FF5 confirm this on their own phone? Is this a common quality/construction issue or is my phone simply faulty?
Hey, I just love your approach to this and had to repeat it myself (didn’t manage to do it to such perfection though). That being said, I think some distortions are probably within tolerances. Mine has, too.
I do still wonder though, cause I was under the impression that they’re all using the same Gorilla glass anyhow (maybe a cheaper batch though). Either way I never experienced any further problems with the screen, not even when trying to apply screen protection.
Interesting One can clearly see distortions on your display glass as well just not all over the place as on mine.
Tbh this is really annoying during everyday use and the fact that display protection does not stick on my phone - probably due to this issue - is a deal breaker.
Hello, is your picture taken with the screen protector?
You mentioned the original one, would it be with the blue filter or the privacy one?

It’s without the protector.
In my case the protector lost connection to the display glass after a few days in a very strange fashion. That’s what made me suspicious about the structure of the glass. That and of course the distortions when viewing the screen.
One can clearly see distortions on your display glass as well just not all over the place as on mine.
