UBPorts 16.04 updates + feature tests

Even if we were thinking that FP2 will stay with the now unmaintained Xenial 16.04, there are good hopes that FP2+Ubuntu Touch could continue with 20.04 Focal

Fairphone 2

Flo reported that Focal is at last working on FP2. It is still a very dated device and there will not be any stunning performance improvement. For those whose top concern is sustainability, it is however a great example of how the latest UT can run on ancient hardware. Thanks to Mohammed for persisting with this work. Nexus 5 may follow but that hardware really is showing its age.

I missed it but in the Ubports Installer there is the 20.04 channel for FP2
And also the utnext channel (preview of Noble)

I will try this after my holidays :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Just noticed that this utnext channel is empty for FP2. :upside_down_face:

Error: no image on channel utnext/armhf/hybris/daily

I tried today the installation of 20.04 with the UBPorts installer and although the installer says OK, the update fails on device…

Here is the last lines of /cache/recovery/last_log:

Update faled, please reboot and try again...

EDIT: After investigation, decompressing both rootfs and device tar.xz on an empty ext4 image file on my computer, the used space is 2,041,232 Kb; so more than the phone ‘system’ partition size!
There is not enough free space on the partition to hold the data. The deficit is about 170 MB.

Just in case this is the topic, so you can post again @oli.sax
