You’ll have to tap shift first.

Not sure whether this also works for the FP2, but on the FP1 the smiley button turns into a carriage return button when you press shift.
If you’re on the first character (as your screenshot shows), you’d need to press shift twice (once to go to lower case, then once more to go to upper case).
