The main microphone of my Fairphone 2 stopped working a few days ago. It was a hardware fault in the bottom module. Even if the ideal situation is to have gear that never fails, here’s what makes the superiority of the Fairphone model: got a new bottom module two days after ordering it and fixed the phone myself in about 10 minutes! A much improved experience compared to all electronic hardware I’ve previously owned.

This very (positive) experience of selv-repairing the phone is a quite valuable feature of the specific design which many non-FP users cannon rate, if never have experienced this with their previous conventional phones.
