Then fast charge it is? ![]()
I was a bit provocative with 6 hours, but @RMW ‘s screenshot show it is almost 4 hours to reach 84 %, is it correct? (sorry I don’t speak german).
Anyway, I’ll write to Faiphone support. To me it is unacceptable to choose between the hare and the tortoise.
I was super happy with this update because they have fixed the damn*d issue with screenshots, now I’m super disapointed with this charging thing. Which was even not mentionned in the release notes.
I don’t want fast charging to ruin my battery, I want a compromise.
Can we at least get the confirmation of the following statement posted on Redit?
Before the update I was getting like 20W eco charge and 30W fast charge. Now it seems to be 5W eco charge and 20W fast charge. Moreover, it does not directly jump to 20W, but increases slowly.
If above statement is correct, it means that fast charge is now the equivalent of previous eco-mode (20 W), which would fit my needs.
If you priorize your battery health, then slow charge is the way to go. 20 watts is not really a softer punch compared to 30 watts (I guess). 5 watts seems best and yes, that’s slow. But yeah, I guess it’s best to contactsupport with this question.
No I think it shows it charged 86% in 4hours.
For me its on average 35.5%/hour and again for my FP6 nothing ever changed, so the charging equipment will play a role as well
So coming back to the topic linked above: I think eco charge was broken, so it was still charging fast when the charger and cable are capable of this, even if set to eco charge and this was fixed. So you will have to select fast charge if eco charge is too slow for you.
That seems to be the case. Fast charging up to 80%:
The screenshot (one of several) shows peak values. So fast charging seems to be OK for emergency or special use cases, but eco charging is preferable for obvious reasons.
Would be great to have an option to easily switch between one and another without going to parameters.
Just an observation. This might be old news to some, but the screenshot method creates differences in outcome (read: the screenshots look different).

I was unable to use data using the mobile provider after this update.
Manually setting the APNs as described in the article to troubleshoot connectivity issues made data work for me again.
After two weeks with it I must say this update was a massive improvement, at least for me.
Just dropping by to say big thanks to the team behind making it.
5W eco charging takes ~3h to charge fully from 10%.
Indeed we need a medium speed charging option as well, not only two extremes. Had anyone filled an issue with support asking for that?
I’ve not yet submitted an issue, please do so if you want to!
even if, a feature requests need a lot voices…
Not me. I’m happy with this setting fast/eco/80%.
I occasionally have problems with the touchscreen. For some reason, the keyboard doesn’t work properly, and I can’t read or scroll through websites.
I think it has something to do with linear gestures.
It feels as if the refresh rate for touch is too low and the movements stop halfway through.
Has anyone else noticed something similar?
Asus offers that optoin. When you charge, a notification pops up that allows you to bypass your charge type setting and also override the 80% max.
