Update went smoothly.

Update went smooth, but I had to re-enable WiFi calling as with every update recently

For me, this does not happen…it stays active

From a half day of usage I’d say the behavior with background processes has improved quite a lot. Although I need to watch that in the long run I’m happy to see that a long-standing issue has been addressed. As I wrote when the “screen not going completely black”-issue was resolved: Keep the spirit up!

Still waiting for it…

Issue from the previous update with the fingerprint sensor still persists. I am unable to use my fingerprint sensor for anything. Internal testing tool shows my fingerprint sensor is working fine

Hi
Am almost in the same boat. Haven’t installed the update yet as I am abroad.

Am preparing to try with the update, and if that doesn’t help, with the factory reset. I have submitted a ticket and also requested repair. Am preparing (mentally) to send my phone in

Looks good to me so far! Spotify isn’t stopping in the background and seems to stay loaded when I switch out and back into it. Same goes for Firefox.

Thanks FP team!

Hi,

the update went smoothly, however, the battery now only lasts a few hours, even though usage intensity hasn’t changed. Even at night, when no apps are actively being used, the battery doesn’t last nearly as long as it did before the update.

It happens that the battery uses more power after an update. Give it a few days.

Telephonr does not notifyme anymore when battery is at 10%.

Cannot find the option

After installing the update I caught my phone twice displaying the Fairphone boot logo ( I rotating on green background turning into the Fairphone logo). Login via Biometrics was disabled after that with the notification that after a reboot you need to enter the manual password. However when checking the uptime of the system it showed over 24 hours.

One of the two times it interrupted my library app playing an audiobook. When I checked to see why the audio stopped I saw the boot logo and checked uptime, which was over 5 hours. It’s not a complete reboot as well, as it is way faster and most if not all open apps stayed open.

This happens yesterday and today.

Anyone else with these issues? I only see fp4 problems with random reboots, so I’m a bit at a loss here.

I’m experiencing something similar. Specifically when I plug my phone in to charge sometimes. I come back to my phone asking me to unlock my SIM. I assume it’s some kind of soft reboot? I never checked the system uptime. I’ll go do that next time. Great idea.

For now it’s more of a nuisance than anything. But if my sim is not unlocked and therefore I can’t receive calls just randomly while my phone is unattended on the charger, that’s a huge issue.

Update went smoothly and it really seemed to fix the background apps issue. Now my FP5 feels usable again. Thank you! :folded_hands:

Very happy with this update because streaming apps don’t crash anymore when messages arrive, or when you open another app. Waited a long time for this.

I waited a few days to be sure, but since I installed the latest update, it seems like I’ve bought a new phone! <3
Everything is fast now, and whenever I want to switch to an already-opened app, I don’t have to wait for 5 seconds for everything to be loaded again! Which means that browsing the Web when asked for 2FA works at last, and just about everything feels snappier. Maybe that issue wasn’t affecting everyone, but those affected by this plague know how awful it was, so I’m glad this nightmare is over.

THANK YOU FOR FIXING THIS BUG. It took eight months and I wish it was less, but I’m very grateful this has been dealt with.

Hi,

Until this update I haven’t had any serious issues. But now my phone reboots randomly.

I deactivated 5G for now as some older posts suggested. When the last reboot happened I could see that the WiFi symbol was gone and 5G was connected. So far no more reboots but it’s only been 2 hours…

I can’t be sure if it os because of the update but after that when I call or someone calls me, they can’t hear my voice. If I switch to speaker, they can hear me again.

Anyone else having this?

Just have to share my gratitude for this update. So happy that my music apps keep playing when I open email, WhatsApp, signal or whatever. Really big difference in enjoyable experience.
