Software Update: FP5.VT2D.C.054.20250814 release šŸ“¢

Update available on Deutsche Telekom network now

Two weeks of testing quickstep with the update.

The error with 3-button navigation and/or quickstep is back, I am starting to think it might be also connected to memory and multitasking.

What happens is that the app switching doesn’t work, instead there is a pop up message ā€œthe app isn’t availableā€ as reported by others. It is then impossible to clear all the apps - the button is kinda greyed.

I don’t need to boot the phone though. Most of the time it’s enough to manually close some apps.

I’ve been suspecting as much for a while.

After installing the update two weeks ago, the phone looses the connection from both, mobile and WLAN sometimes. The symbols on the phone suggest both connections, disabling and enabling the connections in ā€œSettings - Networkā€ doesn’t change the behavior.

Testing with the app WIFIman telling No connections. Therefore I checked my home network, but all connections was ok.

Shutting down the phone and restarting - both connections started as usual and have resumed their work.

Not sure if that is the best space to post it, but here it is.

Got annoyed with not responsive quickstep and decided to clear cache and storage (unintentionally destroying my beautifully crafted folders, oh well).

Since then I am not able to get rid of the date appearing instead of search bar. I had the date ā€œbarā€ for quite some time now but happily had removed with with A15.

The setting of display/search bar is toggled off but when toggled on, it didn’t bring any change.

Am I missing something?

Following @OldRoutard advice I reinstalled the search bar and after some weird surprises I managed to get rid of the date ā€˜bar’ again :tada:. Many thanks:)

Anyone with no problems after the update? Since the annoying memory problem and the bad experiences of others, I’m double-hesitating with updates…

Yes no issues at all…

I was able to toggle the Network name in the Status bar setting off/on/off again and it went away.

I had just factory reset the FP5 before this came in, so for good measure and not too much disruption I shall do it again now! Best chance possible for a clean bill of health!

This will most likely come back, sooner or later

Such a shame. Such a nice phone. I only got it delivered from Holland 2 days ago! I chose it over the FP6 for various reasons. I was looking forward to using it!
