I just meant that this seems to be a serious issue especially while multitasking.
Thus the A13 to A15 shift with this update might then still be even one update too early since background killing has been reported as a severe issue with A15 for FP4 (no issue at all with A13).
I will never suggest not-updating unless someone has a very specific reason not to.
For record I have hardly suffered from this apps killed in the background issue on my FP5.
The phone of my wife ist still on A13. The only update offered is 15.14.4. does that mean, that 15.14.4 must be installed first before upgrading to 15.16.1 ?
My conclusion for your situation is that her FP4 is still “in the queue” to receive 15.16.1
Unfortunately the release notes don’t specify the planned time interval for the rollout. With 4 days since the rollout started, I guess it’s obviously not finished yet. Don’t remember how long it took for previous staged rollouts.
Edit: personally I would wait and not install 15.14.4 first.
Sofar april 3 no sign of the update yet on my Fairphone 4 yet. Feel as a Fairphone 4 user left alone by Fairphone……
Since android 15, sometimes have to wait half a minute before after closing an app to get the start screen again( I am using launcher 10).Also experiencing calling problems ; they can hear me, I can not hear them or the other way around. General is het very slow, full restart helps this a little bit.
Respectfully, the lack of the fix for aggressively killed apps issue makes me think once more how priorities and resources are managed at Fairphone, though.
Does anyone know how long it usually takes before a release like this is available for download as a “user-factory” ZIP file for a manual re-installation?
Day 8 since the release of the update and my phone still hasn’t picked it up. This seems unusual. Is this still part of staggered roll-out or is there another issue preventing me from receiving the update?
whats your first SIM? You could deactivate one to see if the other provides it… still there could be unknown reasons why the SIM/provider does not yet offer it
