For quite some time I’m struggling with Signal calls when using WiFi. It works fine when using 5G. So you might think, it’s your WiFi at home. But when I do the Signal call on my laptop, the latency of about 1-2 seconds is gone.
So if it’s not the network, it may be the device. Do others also experience issues when calling someone over WiFi on your Fairphone 5?
I had no issue with voice calls using my WiFi, does this happen to you specifically with video calls? (I personally don’t think video is necessary for a call so I just don’t have videocalls with others)
It happens to both video and voice. You experience no noticeable latency? There is a huge difference between calling with my phone or with my laptop. I don’t have this issue with Whatsapp or Teams. The combination of Signal, WiFi and Fairphone seems to be it for me.
I have this same issue. I primarily use Signal. - I’m on latest version of the app (7.41.3) but have had this for a while (so before that latest version was released.)
I still have to try a Signal call on a different WiFi network. But I’ll also try to start a call on WiFi and then switch to 5G. I think I did that before already and on 5G it worked perfectly fine.
I’m still having this same issue. I thought it was resolved but it is actually still happening pretty consistently. @UPPERCASE or @Furdiburd - are either of you still experiencing the issue?
Hello pl forgive if I don’t post with normal conventions - I don’t often do it. The system says the issue is solved - I’m not sure it is. I also seem to have substantial latency lags using Signal
