My SD card has disconnected from my Fairphone 4. I have tried restarting and reinserting the card, but my phone no longer recognises it. I have bought extra storage from Google, but I cannot get my phone to use it. Whenever I try to fix it, I am told to disconnect the USB storage.
This is really frustrating. I can’t use the phone at the moment. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

For example, I can’t take new photos or videos, or send messages on Whatsapp. When I try I get a notification saying ‘Internal Storage required - please turn off USB storage and try again.’
I have searched online how to turn off USB storage but I can’t find any information.
I am also receiving notifications that there is not enough storage space.
This was not an issue until yesterday morning, I have been using a micro SD card for additional storage for over a year.
