Screen intermittently black Fairphone 4

Hi!

My Fairphone 4 screen intermittently turns black. I can turn it on and off again and I can see the phone reacts to this (the screen lights up a tiny bit with a blue/black light) and still vibrates when I try unlocking it with my fingerprint. It has also happened while I was on a phone call and I was able to keep on calling, so it doesn’t impact the function of the phone itself too much. I’ve tried replacing the screen but the problem remains. It sometimes lasts a few seconds and after turning it on and off a few times it turns back on, but it’s also lasted a few hours so my phone is now completely unreliable.

  1. So there was no difference with a new display?
  2. Has the phone had any contact with water?

I would imagine opening, cleaning and checking all the connectors might help, but it also can be a hardware issue.

Have you tried troubleshooting via the self repair portal? Is your phone still within warranty?
