Returning phone after registering for extended warranty

Hi everyone,
I had to make a sad decision, which was to return my Fairphone 6, which I bought last week. I will not get into all the reasons why here because I have a question.

As soon as I setup my Fairphone last week, I was prompted to register it for extended warranty in Fairphone app, and I did so.

I bought it from an official reseller (Cyberport) and I returned it directly at their store. I asked there if I should do anything like somehow deregister the device, but they told me they don’t know and I should ask Fairphone.

I logged into my Fairphone account on the Fairphone’s website but didn’t see anything there regarding my extended warranty (maybe I just don’t know where to click)?

Has anyone else returned their phone after registering for extended warranty? What did you have to do? Did you have to deregister the device from Fairphone’s website or the app somehow? Do I even need to do anything?

Lastly, since this will probably be my last thread here for a while, I want to say a big thank you to everyone. While I had issues with the phone, I am really happy that I got to interact with this community. Everyone has been extremely helpful and a pleasure to interact with, and this is not something I am use to from other internet spaces! I might buy it again in the future (maybe a year from now), when all the issues I had are cleared.

Thank you for your kind presence here.
With de-registering your warranty, I would contact FP Support directly to avoid any future confusion.

I tried to open a support ticket, but to open a support ticket, one must answer a series of questions that I cannot answer accurately anymore because these questions assume I still have the device, but I do not have it, so I can’t answer these mandatory questions.

I guess I won’t bother with this issue. Fairphone should have a system in place for handling returns and extended warranty. If they do not, that is their problem.

Hello
I think it is indeed a proper thing to report that so they can amend their files.

I suppose the form you mentioned is this one
https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

I have just realised that it asks a lot if obligatory questions if you choose the option - a fairphone product I already own.

But if you choose ‘something else’ it hopefully should just allow you to proceed.

Thanks for the quick reply Meghan. I will report it then!
