Reduce time to press power button to turn phone on?

Is it somehow possible to reduce the time one has to press the power button for the phone to turn on? It seems I have to press it for five or six seconds. It would like to reduce that time if possible.

Like to trigger the turning off message, it’s only about one or two seconds one has to press the button.

I use a FP6 with the latest e/os version.

You might want to clarify: Do you mean powering on the phone from all shut down or do you mean just activating the display when the phone is in stand-by?

If you mean powering on, I just tested this again on an FP6 on Android OS (not /e/OS) and it takes like 4-5 seconds before I notice that it is booting. I have no deeper insight into the details, but i think it would require quite in-depth knowledge and skill to speed up this time span.

Thank you for your reply!

I meant “powering on from shut down state”. For me personlly, it takes too long until I know that something is happening. Having to press the power button for two or three seconds would be ok, though.

It’s that long to prevent involuntarily powering up the phone, so I guess the delay is made that long intentionally. And I think also, it’s hard coded, so you can’t change it with a parameter.

Thank you. Yes, that’s what I was afraid of…

But what’s the problem with the delay and how often do you switch on the phone?

Not a problem per se. But coming from phones with raised power buttons (easy to find without having to look at) or which give a slight vibration when booting and start after a two or three second button press, having to find the FP6’s recessed power button and press it until the display shows a sign of life, it’s a bit annonying to me. And when holding it with my right hand, I tend to also involuntarily press the lower volume button at the same time, which leads the phone booting into bootloader mode.

Normally I have this phone switched off. So whenever I use it, I have to power it on. Not too often, but again, it could be faster and simpler.
