RCS chats aren't available for this device

Recently I noticed that I am no longer able to send RCS chats (using the default Androing messaging app). When trying to turn on the feature, the corresponding settings menu says RCS chats aren’t available for this device. I have not changed my mobile service provider or location. I tried to update the messages app and the OS but this did not fix the issue. I am not sure if this is just a bug, or I am in fact no logner able to send RCS chats due to my provider/location, or a general issue on FP(4).

I’ve had the same thing happen to me. A week later I noticed it worked again. Probably a Google bug.

Do you use the original OS from Fairphone or another OS like e/os or LineageOS?

I have this problem on routed phones with LineageOS. The problem is the SafetyNet from Google.

I hope it fixes itself. It has beed several updates and restarts already.
