Random string of characters at the end of received sms in murena "Messages"

Hello,

I’ve just started using the new FP6+ under /e/OS, and upon receiving some sms on the “Messages” app by default, there were strange strings of characters at the end of each message a friend sent me, such as : */=Jje=7Q or */=9vBC-g, etc. The first 3 characters “*/=” were always the same.
But it was not the case in an other conversation with another friend.

I’ve suspected a feature they activated on their end that was transcribed/encrypted this way on my end, specifically RCS. I asked them to deactivate it and it solved the problem immediately.

Does someone know why this happened? It’s a bit of a bother to ask my friend to change their settings to improve my own experience… Is there a way for Messages to not show this string of symbols from RCS?

Thanks in advance.

Ok so apparently I should have disabled RCS before switching phones so that the RCS of people I talked to would have receive the notification of “end of RCS” with me. We found a workaround with this friend as he manually settled our private conversation to “sms only”.
I also disabled it on my previous phone on GoogleMessages, without the sim card, but it didn’t seem to change anything…
