I found this to be easily reproducible without any sun involved:
- disable automatic brightness
- set maximum brightness manually
- start a game like Mighty Doom or MTG Arena and wait about 2 minutes (the game would heat up the phone enough to show the dimming behaviour)
So Iād say no need to wait for the sun for testing the fix.
