My fairphone keeps forgetting wifi networks to which I have previously been connected. The wifi works fine, and then sometimes when I go away and come back, it doesn’t automatically connect. I then have to open the wifi settings, reconnect and reenter the password. I have had this same problem with a few different wifi networks, so I’m pretty sure it’s not just a problem with my wifi network at home.
Any solutions for fixing this would be much appreciated! Thanks!
It could be a problem with the file in which the wireless settings are stored. If you feel comfortable playing around with system internals, the file you’re looking for is /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf, which can only be accessed as root. There’s more discussion on this file, and, if you’d rather not mess with the system yourself, the link to an app that may be able to help (disclaimer: I have not tried the app myself) in the thread over here.
