I’ve got a sim from the Danish provider 3, which is unfortunately not one of the operators that Fairphone supports.
As long as I’m in Denmark, VoLTE works fine. But when I travel to Sweden, it stops - and as 3 doesn’t have any 2G or 3G service in Sweden, I’m unable to make voice calls.
Is this something that the operator can fix? What should I ask them to do?
Or is it something that Fairphone needs to look at?
Or even worse, is it something that can only be solved if Fairphone and 3 cooperate?
I fear that this is just one more side effect of the mess that was created when 2G and 3G were shut down in Sweden:
It’s hard to tell who is your best point of contact, but you could get started with your provider as they should at least know if in general it should work for their customers.
Based on what I learned some time ago in a similar case, the smartphone (which should be the case with the 6) must support VoLTE roaming. Your provider must support VoLTE roaming for your contract. And the guest network must also support VoLTE roaming.
If your SIM card is more than two or three years old, replacing it might help.
