As the caption reads. I’ve missed two important calls today due to there being no sound bor vibration for incoming calls. Texts and other notifications are also completely silenced. I’m not in any “do not disturb"-mode and the volume is maxed out for everything.wtf?
Did you try to reboot your phone?
When you adjust sound levels in Settings > Sound and vibration, do you hear the relevant sounds at the relevant levels?
Is audio working correctly?
Which sound did you choose for incoming calls and for notifications?
I did not
maybe I need to? Will I lose all my files etc? As in, do I need to do a backup beforehand?
Yes, all sounds are correct and heard clearly
I have different ringtones for different people. I actually tried changing the ringtones and notification sounds and later on (yesterday) they worked again. However, only for some people. I still get texts with no notifications sound (seems randomly selected).
With a reboot I meant power off your phone and start it up again.
It’s always a good idea to make a backup from time to time.
Ah, right, yup I tried that but it didn’t change anything.
I get the impression there’s some mess in Settings.
At this stage I would recommend restarting the phone in Safe Mode.
This will let you know if the problem could potentially be resolved by a full reset (rather a “last resort”).
See here for details.
Hey @juno ,
I’ve been having similar problems, and it seems there might be a minor issue with battery saver mode and notifications when the screen is off. I turned that off, and then the only apps I still had issues with when the screen was off were whatsapp and instagram. Then I found this Signal and whatsapp messages not received when screen is off and realised it was also a problem with the battery manager being on. turning that off seems to have resolved the issues end-to-end. Maybe it works. Otherwise, it might just be an issue with your phone, and not a general bug? I’m sure Fairphone support could help. if the safe mode doesn’t work as a final resort?
I hope this helps.
Thank you @WannabeTechy (And also thank you to @OldRoutard).
For some reason it started working again a day later. If it happens again I’ll keep your tips in mind and try them out ![]()
