Hi,
My fairphone 3 suddenly went blank and has little green android robot with red exclamation mark triangle in its belly. It will sometimes flash up FairPhone in white but then goes back to No command message.
I’ve tried doing these things, nothing has worked - turn off & on, take out sim and battery and replace, press power & volume down, press power & volume up.
Please help!

This is midway into the Recovery. I think briefly holding the power button and right then briefly pressing the volume up button should take you to the actual Recovery. There you should be able to select (using the volume buttons) “Reboot system now” and trigger this with the power button.
You’re a legend! It is working again. Not sure if you can answer (& you’ve already helped) by do you know why this happened?? - Do I need to get new Fairphone 5 do you think?
Hang on, I have just seen you are on Fairphone 1 so I think your advice would be to hold on and not change! - I’m okay with that!
I am not on my old Fairphone 1 anymore, I changed to my current FP3+ (see my profile) in the spring of 2021. 
You might have “landed” where you were because of accidentally holding not just the power, but also the volume up button (or the latter was blocked perhaps?). Then again, it seems that sometimes people just end up at “No command” when there’s a hiccup in booting.
I have no idea if this is an early sign of worse things to come, but it can never hurt to back up your most important data (ideally, we should all do this regularly 
).
