UPDATE!
They are fully covering the repair and have changed the website to match the case not being IP rated:
My apologies to Fairphone for having made such a big deal out of it, but I felt like this just wasn’t a correct way of handling this issue.
I’ll be more weary of where I put the case now for sure though. But i’m very glad it’s finally changed on the website as well!
