Muffled loud speaker

Hello,
My loud speaker suddenly stopped working correctly. Sound seems still to come from it but it’s really low and saturated.
Is there a way to test it to know if it’s broken or if it’s a software problem? I tried the 666 test code but it did nothing. I’m on lineage + micro g (does it change the test codes?).
I didn’t open it yet but if I do, is there a way to clean the speaker module perhaps?

You can remove and clean the contacts and have a look at the grill, but as for dismantling the speaker module, not easily.

Otherwise you may find a fairphone angel near you that can lend you a speaker or try the speaker in their phone.
