i’m happy for the product and will probably buy it at some point, but building hype on that was kinda wierd.
It’s sort of unclear what the upgrade for v 2.0 actually is.
And it’s unfortunate that they choose new colors, if the kept the same, any replaceable part wouldn’t look out of place. But I guess it’s easier to sell as a new product.
Otherwise I appreciate the idea of new iterations with parts interchangeable with the previous.
It now has… Aptx HD yay! And a possibly better speaker. Same anc and no low latency codec so audio delay will still exist.

Backwards compatibility is so cool. Which other company does that? Then again, which other company does modular headphones? Fairphone is awesome.
Little caveat: Upgrading the speakers needs to be done as a whole pair (left + right) – see the little Compatibility note in the Technical specifications section at
the spare part shop page:
If you’re switching between versions, please buy both left and right speaker units together to ensure sound quality and performance.

I really hope that these ones are what we thought the first ones would be!
My current headphones (from another brand) is literally falling apart due to wear and tare over the years. I would be completely okay with trading some audio quality for repairability.

No low latency codec? That makes them unusable. ![]()
OT: Why can’t you even quote posts (other than manually doing it) on this forum? Discource seems be some sort of poor clone of Twitter.
Discourse seems to discourage quoting full posts as a default setting.
You can just leave out a character when quoting or just use a link to the post.
Last punctuation omitted in the otherwise full quote …
Link to the post used instead of quoting …
Am i misremembering or didn’t the OG Fairbuds XL have that anyway? I remember it popping up when i had my set
You are right, I was just focused on the fact the new gen still don’t have any usable codec for watching movies / gaming and did not checked if the old one had aptx HD or not ![]()
