Lock Screen shows system message "App Updates available" but there are none

Hi,
I’m a new owner and so far everything works fine. But:

On the lockscreen I always see the system msg “App updates available - connect to WLAN”

  1. I have no WLAN/phonewire at home. I’m using LTE. So I cannot connect to a WLAN.
  2. I have checked the android and app updates. Everything is up to date.
  3. I cannot disable this message, or at least have not found how to do so.

This problem ist not really bad it’s just annoying.

Cheers,
KEF

Hi Karl-Erwins_Frau,

please check the following setting (i presume you have your Fairphone in german):

Play Store App -> “Drei Striche Icon/Hamburger Icon” -> Einstellungen -> Bevorzugte Downloadvariante für Apps -> Auf “Über beliebiges Netzwerk” stellen -> Fertig

Play Store App -> “Drei Striche Icon/Hamburger Icon” -> Einstellungen -> Automatische App-Updates -> Auf “Über beliebiges Netzwerk” stellen -> Fertig

Does this help?

Greetings/Gruß,

Hi,

Are the mentioned settings still set?

You can do a long tap on the notification, and normally you have the choice to silence it and make it disappear. Perhaps not what you want though.
Or otherwise, don’t you have a way to connect to wifi somewhere, in a cybercafe for example? Or at a friend’s? (just suggestions) It should solve the problem I suppose :man_shrugging:

Hey,

yes, settings are still set.

a tap on the notification brings me to a silence mode (for a few hours maximum). Or to settings where I cannot set anything cause it says I cannot diable this message.

Sure I could search for a wifi somewhere in a city nearby.
But: A bug is a bug is a bug.

I wish there was an official solution,
cheers,
KEF

I think its a good idea to report this to Fairphone Support :slightly_smiling_face:
