Lineage-16.0 (Android Pie) Beta

I’m using better battery stats: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809

I think i can use VoLTE on this ROM. Maybe it works on earlier versions, too. As i rooted with Magisk, for other tests, I stumbled upon the module VoEnabler. After activating it the phone code *#*#4636#*#* shows that volte is enabled (my carrier also supports it). I tried a test call and did some surfing at the same time, so i think it works.

Thanks a lot !

I installed it one week ago, and I did not have a single problem.
I did not change keys (as I did not understand the reason).
I installed over a working 15.1, and installed nano Open Gapps before reboot.
I have lost nothing, expect the homescreen icons and widgets (did not have encrypted system).

You did very good work ! Congratulations !

I’ve done now a clean, fresh install of lineage 16.
Also as with the installion done as upgrade to lineage 15, apps like the Telekom or Sparkasse app stating that the device is rooted.
Why is this?

Just had a reboot. A handfull of audit messages (as I don’t know whether they are related), and then BUG:

Some observations

  • roaming works
  • navigation in car with osmand works fine

One thing while roaming, which is at least confusing… I not only see a small R on the mobile indicator, but also the small star (or whatever sign this really is…), which indicates you have no internet access. But i do…

I used better battery stats now for 8 days and didnt find any strange behaviour of the battery consumption. Everything seems to be normal. So i can’t confirm this issue

Hi,
Well done ! After two weeks of use, it still works very well !
By the way, I’d like to know if you’ll add signature spoofing in the ROM, please !

Thanks again for the amazing work you’ve done

Still having some effects after around 6 days of uptime… This time, it’s been Wifi. I’m in an holiday appartment right now, and the phone would not connect to the wlan any longer.
My wife’s samsung had no problems. Here’s the logcat that seems relevant:

(Edit: 6 days is not fixed… Today WLAN misbehaves after just two days…)

Is it a possibility that TTS is missing?
After the update Osmand still has no sound output on my device.
I recognized that TTS option is missing in the system options.

As you can see on the screenshot. Under “Pointer speed” should be an entry for TTS. In my case it is missing. When i install a third party TTS it appears.
Can somebody confirm this or has an idea where the fault could be and what i have to do?

TTS is part of the Google apps and not part of the provided lineage package. Are you saying it has disappeared after the upgrade?

Chris

Yes.
In LOS 15.1 there was Pico TTS pre-installed (I first used LOS 15.1 with Pico Gapps and than LOS 15.1 for microG without Gapps for more than a year).
I thought it was Pico TTS from svox and not from Google. Just tried to install this Pico TTS from Svox from the apkmirror Website (Link), but the app crashes.
I found this post on StackExchange which also says, that Pico TTS is missing in LOS16.
But my current LOS16 installation isnt a upgrade because before i used LOS15.1 for microG. It is a fresh installation after i formated the phone. Now i havent any GAPPS installed.

With a fresh install of LOS16 and Gapps osmand is talking …

I find that the clock widget keeps trying to load (unsuccessfully) after a (chosen) reboot.

Is this inevitable when flight mode plus energy saving mode are activated? I had set date and time manually after which the widget originally did show, but after a reboot it’s like described at the beginning. This happened in the previous build as well.

UPDATE: Non-loading the clock widget seems to be triggered by energy saving mode.

I just realized it’s not visible in the ui, but still selectable with automation tools, like tasker…

Ok. I didn’t know that. Let me try to find out more info.

Ok. Looks like we’ll get official lineage 16 builds now. Thank you all for testing.

We should close this forum topic and open a new one when the official builds are out.

When switching from unofficial to official, don’t forget to change keys again.

Chris

PS: It will take a bit because of a lineage build server outage: https://www.reddit.com/r/LineageOS/comments/bl35j8/builds_are_being_skipped_this_weekend_410_412/
