Spare parts for FP2 are on their way:
We recently shared the news that we need to stop supporting the Fairphone 1 — our first attempt at making a fairer smartphone. In his blog post, our founder and CEO Bas van Abel explained some of the reasons why we needed to make this hard decision,...

As part of our mission to change how products are made, we’re taking a closer look at how to make the most of the materials in our phones when they reach the end of their useful lives. As you might suspect, recycling is a big part of the answer. In a...

Looking at the figure below, you can see that route 1 (total smelting) has the least metal depletion, but also has the second-highest rate of global warming potential (GWP, measured by CO2 equivalent). Route 2 (dismantling) results in greater metal depletion than route 1, but has a lower GWP.

In a couple weeks, we’ll give Eva the opportunity to tell you more about herself and what she’s working on at Fairphone. We will also introduce you to the supervisory board members and provide more insight into the new governance structure. In the meantime, we’ll be working together to develop and kick-off a growth map that will support our social mission and maximize our impact.
I really think, that this is exciting news and a kind of relieve to see, that change really is happening; that the movement grows and is moving forward.
Looking forward especially to getting to know more about the new developments.

This blog falls together with the great news that displays are now available again in the store.
